These tangy, cheesy cheese straw twists are perfect for picnics, barbecues, and family get-togethers of any kind. The iconic mustardy tang of Branston Piccalilli just works so well with the cheese and flakey puff pastry, making these cheese straws the must-have savoury snack for any occasion.
Ingredients
- 2 sheets of pre-rolled puff pastry
- 4-6 tbsp Branston Piccalilli Small Chunk
- 200g grated cheddar cheese
- 1 egg, whisked
Method
- Preheat the oven to 190c.
- On a large, parchment-lined baking tray, lay out your first sheet of puff pastry and top with Piccalilli Small Chunk.
- Sprinkle with grated cheddar and lay the second sheet of puff pastry over the top.
- Using a large knife, cut the pastry into strips. Twist each strip.
- Bake in the oven for around 40 minutes or until golden and crisp. Allow to fully cool. Enjoy!
