The recipe is easy to make at home and involves grilling peppers and onions, toasting buns, layering cheese onto smashed burger patties, and spooning on that Branston Chilli Piccalilli to bring everything together. Give it a go...
Ingredients
Per burger
- 120g mince beef
- 2 slices of American cheese
- ½ a white onion, thinly sliced
- ½ bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 2 tbsp Branston Chilli Piccalilli
- 1 brioche bun, halved
- 1 small handful of sliced lettuce
- 2 slices of tomato
Method
- Add the onion and pepper to a hot skillet to soften, char, and caramelise. Remove them from the pan.
- Toast the two halves of the brioche bun in the skillet.
- Divide the mince in two and roll the two parts into even-sized balls. Place the balls of mince in the skillet with space between them. Squish each one down as flat as you can using a spatula. Once the bottom side is caramelised, flip the patties and add cheese to each one. Once the cheese has melted remove the patties from the heat.
- Construct the burger by placing one spoonful of Branston Chilli Piccalilli on the bottom brioche half followed by the lettuce and tomato. Then add the burger patties, onions and peppers. Add the other spoonful of Branston Chilli Piccalilli to the top half of the brioche bun and place on top of the burger. Enjoy!
