Sausage & Chutney Grilled Cheese Sandwich

Ingredients
- 5 tbsp Branston Caramelised Onion Chutney
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 2 cloves of garlic, grated
- 1 tbsp fresh thyme, finely chopped
- 1 tbsp fresh sage, finely chopped
- 4 British pork sausages
- A pinch of salt and pepper
- 1 tbsp salted butter
- 4 slices of white sourdough bread
- 4 slices of mature cheddar cheese
Method
- Slice each sausage, lengways with a small knife and remove the outer
- skin. Crumble up the sausage meat and set aside.
- Heat the olive oil in a frying pan over a low-medium heat and sweat the
- garlic and herbs for 2 minutes. Increase the heat to medium-high and
- add in the sausage meat and seasoning. Brown the sausage meat for
- 5-6 minutes then add 1 tbsp of Branston Caramelised Onion Chutney,
- stir through and cook for a further 2 minutes. The sausages should be
- golden, juicy and starting to crisp up at the edges. Set the cooked
- sausage meat aside and return the heat to the pan.
- Melt the butter in the pan and add the sourdough slices, toasting them
- for 2 minutes on each side.
- Spread each slice with Branston Caramelised Onion Chutney and top 2
- slices with the cooked sausage mixture. Top these with the sliced cheddar and add the lids. Cook for a further minute on each side to
- really crisp up the toast and allow the cheese to melt.
- Serve immediately
