Few things are more homely and satisfying than bringing out a good old cheese and ham pasty, especially with a spoonful of Branston on the side to dip in. For this recipe, we've added a hint of mustardy tang and kick of chilli that takes things to new levels of deliciousness using Branston Chilli Piccalilli. Perfect for picnics and get-togethers, you have got to give them a go!
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp Branston Chilli Piccalilli
- 100g cheddar
- 100g gruyère cheese
- 50ml cream
- C.150g ham, shredded
- 1 egg yolk, to egg wash
- 1 sheet of puff pastry
- Salt and pepper, to season
Method
- Pre–heat oven to 200c.
- Combine the cheeses, ham, and cream to form a loose paste. Season to taste.
- Cut discs out of the puff pastry and place a spoonful of the cheese mixture onto each disc. Fold over the pastry to form pasty shapes. Crimp the edges and egg wash. Pierce the top of each pasty.
- Bake on a lined baking tray for 40 minutes or until golden and crisp. Allow to cool slightly. Enjoy!
